Company history
Nearly 40 years of extrusion experience…
Alfaplas was incorporated in 1997 when it took over the printing division of ACP Plastics, which was started as a polythene extrusion company in 1972. Now, Alfaplas continues to offer vast expertise in the extrusion of different types of polythene, following the merger with ACP Plastics in 2005.
…and 35 years of printing expertise.
We started printing in 1976, moved to Rotherwas in 1981 and, in 2005, we opened a purpose-built, streamlined Print Department to accommodate the new presses and ancillary equipment.
Alfaplas today
Alfaplas is a leading manufacturer and supplier of plain and printed flexible films and is experienced in extrusion, print, origination and conversion. We offer a wide range of substrates in a variety of different formats including LDPE, MDPE, degradable, biodegradable/compostable and specialised films such as: HDPE, polyprop, paper, metallised, specialised shrink and co-extruded. We can print on almost any substrate supplied by our customers so please feel free to contact us for further information.
Capabilities
We currently employ around 80 people. We are coming to the end of a five year growth plan, which has included considerable investment in two Flexotecnica 8-colour gearless presses, a Laem duplex turret slitting machine and a mono-layer extruder.
By utilising six blown-film extruders, we produce 500 tonnes per month of quality film. The five printing presses produce in excess of 400 tonnes of printed film per month.
