Our Environmental Policy
Alfaplas takes environmental issues very seriously and actively promotes Compostable and recycled products along with recycling all other material used. Our objective is to considerably reduce the impact of our activities on the environment.
Here at Alfaplas we feel a great responsibility for any impact our business may have on the environment, not just locally but globally too. In addition to having a green product, we have an environmentally-friendly policy.
- Prevent and reduce pollution and ensure measures are implemented to protect and preserve the environment.
- Investigate and implement methods to reduce power and fuel consumption. As an example, we have commissioned a new thermal oil installation which has enabled us to convert all our presses, driers over to thermal oil from electricity and gas and this has reduced our energy consumption considerably. We are constantly working towards economical use of energy and natural resources.
- Ensure effective and expedient incident control, investigation and reporting.
- Consider any effects we may have on the local community and behave in a responsible manner.
- Reduce waste sent to landfill through re-use and carry out in-house recycling, although we do not undertake external waste recycling. All our products are recyclable.
- Review and improve our environmental management and control systems constantly.
Managerial and supervisory employees have responsibilities for the implementation of this policy and must ensure that all environmental issues are given consideration in the day-to-day planning and running of our business.
